Simplicity

Best with interesting detail. The trend is smooth materials (I like to have pockets made for them extremely), simple elegant lines, but at the same time ingeniously designed so that the dresses are not boring. A great example is the Elza dress, which is one of our bestsellers, especially for brides of size 42+ – it beautifully shapes the figure, subtly covers the arms and, thanks to the beads around the neckline, is extremely interesting. Another representative is the Athena dress, which in turn dazzles in the distance with a very interesting and sexy cut.

Colors

A big trend is wedding dresses toned to a certain color – most often it is champagne, apricot or peach. It should be noted that there are a lot of snowflakes in the Czech Republic whose light toning will not take away anything from the festivities, but will flatter their skin much better. Josephine’s apricot dress with beautiful sleeves and Lola dress with a pink skirt, ideal for girls with small breasts, are very popular with us.

Boho chic

Outdoor weddings are popular, in the mill and weddings with this touch sometimes even require very light dresses – cuts tend to be more informal, simpler. Popular are our Teresa dresses with rustic lace or Jasmine, decorated with feathers, which make the bride’s effect a wonderful effect.

What do Czech brides most often want?
Czech brides want to be princesses! And although they often come with the fact that they definitely do not want a completely simple smooth dress, often with a sleeve and without a petticoat, the truth is that in the end they choose such dresses really exceptionally. And let me make a subjective remark – that’s very good! You can wear flowing, simpler clothes many times in your life – for example as a witness, bridesmaid or prom. But when can you wear a beautiful, perfectly crafted fairy-tale dress?

Otherwise, I have to note that Czech brides are great and brave – I often order dresses that I think are too “extra” – unusual, unconventional, decorated, sexy, colorful, and girls often tell me that something like this exactly what they want, they just haven’t found it anywhere else.

What mistakes to avoid when choosing a wedding dress?
On my instagram @tvuj_honeymoon, I make short videos once in a while that help my brides with the best possible selection of wedding dresses, and I have just shot this topic. However, here I will emphasize a few points again a little differently. Don’t show the groom photos. Ideally or to anyone else. Take an escort with you to the salon, who will give you good advice, get advice from the staff if you like it, but the photos you take in the salon on your mobile phone are not entirely meaningful and cannot be trusted. That is why it can happen that you fall in love with clothes in the salon and someone else who does not see you in them realistically but only in photos can then spoil them for you.

Don’t hold your teeth with your nails and ideally don’t even concretize it completely. In reality, you may not be able to do what you dream of at all, and then you may be disappointed. Do not defend salons. It’s a waste of time for us and it’s just confusing for you. Once you dress up in your twenties, you won’t remember any of the previous ones, they will all seem the same, no amazing and exceptional, and you will oppose the choice. The paradox of choice is a tribute to a strong thing, and this is doubly true when choosing a dress.

On your website you offer Honeymoon Classic, De luxe services, can you tell us exactly what this is about?
My salon is based on the idea that choosing a wedding dress should be a beautiful experience for the bride and her loved ones, more a relaxation and a pleasant part of wedding planning than another stressful item on the “To do” list. That’s why I offer my brides both the Honeymoon Classic variant, where we can enjoy coffee or my favorite green tea together and talk about her wedding and the bride herself, because the better I know and understand her, the better help I can give her with a difficult choice. How much has a global situation affected you in your work?
Of course, the global pandemic has forced many couples to postpone the wedding, but I cannot say that postponement is quite common. Many people already see marriage as a very powerful ritual and rituals are extremely important to us, they help us detach ourselves from our past and accept the future with a smile. That’s why the couple often chooses the option of not being able to hold a big party for a lot of friends, but that’s really important – they’ll take an imaginary first step into living together. Pandemic, non-pandemic.

In addition, although I originally intended the salon primarily as a classic rental shop, 85% of us end up tailoring the dress – customers often say that we have sewing prices as in comparable salons for rent. So our brides are at least less worried if they decide to postpone the wedding – the dress is waiting with them and they are looking forward to that big day.
