It is believed that every girl needs a “capsule” to be able to dress up quickly and look stunning at the same time. Plus, a good “base” allows you to save on things, avoiding the temptations of fast fashion – a few wardrobe “updates” are usually enough to match trends.

British designer Lydia Tomlinson is convinced that the basic wardrobe is a “must have” for every girl. Such a set, according to her, optimizes the time spent and allows everyone to live fully, without thinking for hours about what to wear. However, according to Tomlinson, many women do not know how to work with basic things and therefore cannot use their advantages.

In her recent TikTik video, Lydia explained two of the most common mistakes girls make. So here’s what to avoid if you want to put together a chic fall outfit!

According to Lydia, you should not only choose well-fitting things for the image. “If you add skinny pants to a tight top, like this top, the look will turn out to be boring because there won’t be a contrast in the proportions,” says Tomlinson. She advises replacing one of the components: for example, adding a stocking with a wide cut. “That way you’ll look easy and comfortable,” says the stylist.

Likewise, you need to handle oversized wardrobe items, otherwise “oversized” clothes will spoil the look. It should be combined with skinny pants, fitted knit dresses, tight skirts and cropped tops. Don’t be afraid to emphasize the waistline: a loose shirt can be tucked in completely or halfway into pants.

The next mistake you can make is related to the choice of bags, glasses, belts, scarves and jewelry. “The idea behind staple pieces is that they are the foundation of your look. But accessories are a key part of transformation,” Lydia explains. In her video, she shows how simple black shorts and a t- Ordinary shirt are transformed if you choose the right accompaniment for them.

However, Tomlinson points out that a lot of additions aren’t always necessary to make images look elegant. “Sometimes a simple straw bag and a pair of sandals can enhance an outfit,” explains the stylist. And, of course, don’t forget about the vibe: the better and more confident you feel, the more spectacular you look!
