Naomi is the daughter of the President’s younger son Hunter and was named after her aunt who died in a car accident in 1972 along with her mother Neila, Naomi’s grandmother. According to media reports, Naomi Biden played an important role in her grandfather’s political career. In 2019, she called a family meeting where she and her sisters urged him to run for president against Donald Trump.
It is not so surprising that the wedding ceremony itself took place in the garden of the White House. Planning for the privately funded ceremony and subsequent festivities was led by Biden’s friend Bryan Rafanelli of Rafanelli Events. He is recognized as one of the best organizers in the world and also oversaw Chelsea Clinton’s wedding in Rhinebeck in 2010. He also has many White House events to his credit, including state dinners and holiday decorations for the Obamas.
Naomi Biden has a very warm relationship with the Ralph Lauren fashion house. In March of this year, she and her sister did not miss his show at New York Fashion Week and also wore a Lauren dress to her inauguration ceremony. So she had a clear choice for her wedding day, on which she wore a dress copying her slim waist with long sleeves, decorated with lace across the neckline and across the entire back and with a long, slightly flared skirt. The delicate but very long veil was a clear cherry on the cake.
“It’s been a joy to watch Naomi grow, discover who she is, and create an incredible life for herself,” said US President Joe Biden and the First Lady. “We are now proud that she has chosen Peter as her husband and honored to welcome him into our family. We wish them days full of laughter and love that grows deeper every year.”
