Outside temperatures are dropping, the calendar is announcing the approaching start of winter, so it’s high time to pull out fuzzy sweaters, warm jackets, gloves, scarves… and hats from the depths of your wardrobe.
Hats, hats and more hats!
Whether we like it or not, the recommendation of Petra Měchurová, one of the best Czech hair stylists, is clear: “If you’re avoiding a hat because you’re worried it’ll make your hairstyle lose volume, know that not wearing it on cold days can do more damage than just loss of volume. Hair that is exposed to the cold and dry winter air has a greater tendency to break. So definitely a hat! The loss of volume or subsequent electrification of the hair after removing the cap can be eliminated with suitable products that will help you with these problems, which you can find in our e-shop, for example.”

Always dry
The emphatic exclamation point of Petra Měchurová also adds for further advice: “Never leave the house with wet or damp hair, always dry it thoroughly first. Wet hair could easily freeze outside and then break.” In cold winter days, even washing your hair itself has its specifics, during which we should not use too hot water, which can draw moisture from the hair and it then tends to break more. During the winter, it is advisable to add deep care in the form of a mask to the shampoo and conditioner. Regular trimming of the ends definitely benefits the proper condition of the hair at any time of the year – for more damaged hair, it is best to do it every month, for healthy hair, once every three months is enough. And the cut? “Obviously this is highly individual, but in general I recommend keeping your hair shorter in the winter and longer in the summer so it can be worn in a ponytail,” adds Petra Měchurová.
