Since Monday night, the world press has only been discussing that the appearance of Kim Kardashian in a “naked” Marilyn Monroe dress at the Costume Institute ball. Earlier, Vogue, whose editor-in-chief Anna Wintour has been the hostess of the evening for many years, wrote that for the sake of it, the star had to lose 7 kilograms in three weeks (we have collected other facts about the exit here). But now it turns out it didn’t help.
To the dismay of fashion history buffs and personally Marilyn Monroe, because of Kim’s volume below the waist, the dress could not be fastened, so they added ties that were not originally on it. In the full version of the video from the fitting, which was published by TMZ, it is clearly seen that the assistant was unable to zip up her back, but only tied the lacing at the waist. Fashion critic Philipp Pourhashemi was one of the first to notice this – he posted a screenshot of the answer to the main question on his blog. Apparently, that’s why Kim did not part with the white coat, which just covered Kim’s ass.
True, now the question of how Kim got into Marilyn’s dress has been replaced by another, no less important one – whether such treatment of a museum exhibit is considered damage to it and whether the museum will require Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! compensation.
