Sertanejo star Gusttavo Lima performed until sunrise on Saturday to bring down the curtain on the final night of the Festa do Peao de Barretos. The event, held in the city of Barretos in Sao Paulo state, wrapped up its annual edition after ten days of live country music and rodeo competitions.
The closing lineup on Saturday night also featured major Brazilian musical acts including Leonardo, Luan Pereira and Michel Telo. Lima, who is popularly known as The Ambassador, took to the main stage for his second performance of this year's festival, marking his third time serving as the official representative of the historic celebration.
Keeping with the longstanding sertanejo tradition of playing through the night, Lima delivered his biggest hits to a crowded arena until daybreak. Sertanejo is Brazil's most widely listened to genre of music, often described as Brazilian country music, and Barretos hosts the largest annual rodeo event in Latin America.
Closing Lineup and Festival Highlights
Over the course of ten days, festival attendees camped on site in Barretos to immerse themselves in the full festival experience. The stage hosted some of the biggest names in Brazilian country music throughout the gathering, including veteran duos Bruno & Marrone, Chitaozinho & Xororo and Zeze Di Camargo & Luciano, alongside solo singer Simone Mendes.
Famous personalities and fellow musicians also gathered at the event to watch their musical idols perform and experience the atmosphere of the rodeo. The annual festival was established in Barretos, a municipality situated in northern Sao Paulo state, and draws hundreds of thousands of visitors every August.
Camping and Celebrity Life at Barretos
Among the celebrities staying at the grounds, singer Ana Castela set up a custom mobile compound described as a small city for her friends. Castela shared a spacious trailer equipped with a bathroom, a kitchen and a single shared bed with three companions.
During their free time outside the vehicle, the group hosted barbecues, played footvolley matches and drove around the festival grounds in large pickup trucks. The festive gathering concluded as thousands of campers prepared to depart Barretos following the traditional sunrise musical finale.
