Actress Helena Bonham Carter and her boyfriend Rye Dag Holmboe were spotted inspecting anti-wrinkle treatment adverts while walking their dogs in London on Tuesday.
Holmboe, 38, was seen scanning a QR code on a promotional poster attached to street railings while Bonham Carter, 60, waited nearby. The advert featured details on anti-ageing treatments, botox and lip filler.
The couple, who have been dating since 2018, walked arm in arm during their stroll. Bonham Carter wore a red-and-white-print scarf draped over a lace-trimmed dress layered over a long navy skirt, while Holmboe chose a casual look of a t-shirt and shorts.
Bonham Carter is an acclaimed British actress known for her roles in major films including the Harry Potter series, The King's Speech and the television drama series The Crown. Over a career spanning four decades, she has received two Academy Award nominations and won a BAFTA Award.
First meeting and relationship background
The pair first met at a mutual friend's wedding that both had almost decided not to attend. Bonham Carter later described the encounter to The Guardian as a random moment that ended up determining so much, calling it a happy accident.
Holmboe works as an art historian and psychoanalyst. Speaking about his career, Bonham Carter explained that his profession as a psychoanalyst requires anonymity, which helps keep their private life out of the spotlight.
The couple went public with their romance in 2019, five years after Bonham Carter split from her former partner, film director Tim Burton, 68. Bonham Carter and Burton share two children, Billy, 22, and Nell, 18.
Views on aging and marriage
Burton is an American filmmaker known for directing gothic fantasy movies such as Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands and Batman. Bonham Carter previously told Harper's Bazaar that she eventually moved on after growing tired of grieving her breakup with Burton, describing her relationship with Holmboe as unexpected magic.
Addressing their 21-year age gap in an interview with The Times, Bonham Carter described Holmboe as unbelievably mature and an old soul in a young body. She noted that while some people are frightened of older women, women can be very powerful as they age.
