Jessie J put on an energetic performance at Brighton Pride on Saturday, taking the stage at Preston Park in a black lace bodysuit just days after confirming her split from Chanan Safir Colman.
The 38-year-old singer showed no signs of heartbreak as she belted out her hits and danced across the stage. Over the lace bodysuit she wore a sheer black and white T-shirt, paired with chunky gold jewellery including large gold hoop earrings.
Jessie last week revealed she had split from Chanan, a Danish-Israeli basketball player, after five years together. The pair welcomed their son, Sky, in May 2023 and began dating in 2021.
How Jessie Announced the Split
Jessie confirmed the news on Instagram, sharing a picture of herself with Chanan and their three-year-old son. She wrote that she and Chanan had decided to end their romantic relationship some time ago.
It has been a sad and difficult situation, but we have been focused on navigating the change privately and positively for a healthy and happy co parenting environment for our son, and ourselves.
She said that being in the public eye meant this was the easiest way to share the truth before rumours or a false narrative circulated. Jessie added that she and Chanan would continue supporting each other with love, respect and care as friends, and as Sky's parents.
So if you see us out and about together as a family, or posting each other on socials every now and again. That's exactly what we are doing. Raising and loving Sky together, supported with a positive friendship.
Past Comments on Marriage
Back in May 2025, Jessie told PEOPLE magazine that marriage was not a priority for her and Chanan, since having a child together already made them feel "locked in." She said they talked and laughed about the idea often but were in no rush.
I've always said that I'm not too fussed about getting married, and some people get really funny about that, but it's my own preference.
Jessie said she found marriage "quite contractual," though she was keen for the couple to affirm their love, preferring a ceremony with just friends and family in attendance. She said she would like to marry once Sky was old enough to understand and take part in the moment.

Health Update and Cancer Journey
In May, Jessie announced she was cancer-free, a year after her diagnosis. She shared the news online, saying results were in and she was cancer-free, followed by ten crying emojis, and said she sobbed for hours before exhaling for the first time in a year.
Jessie revealed her breast cancer diagnosis publicly in June last year and had surgery that same month. Chanan was by her side throughout the ordeal. In August, she rearranged and cancelled tour dates after revealing she needed further treatment. Jessie said she went public with her diagnosis to help process it and to show solidarity with others facing similar situations, adding that it gave her incredible perspective.
Chanan's Mother's Day Tribute
In March 2025, Chanan wrote publicly that watching Jessie become a mother had been the most poetic thing he had ever witnessed.

Before Chanan, Jessie's most high-profile relationship was with actor Channing Tatum, whom she began dating after his split from Jenna Dewan. The couple went public in October 2018 and had an on-off relationship for around two years before splitting for good in October 2020. Jessie also dated American singer Luke James, breaking up after 11 months in November 2014, and dated Max Pham for seven months before splitting in 2021.
Pregnancy Rumours
Jessie recently had to address pregnancy speculation after sharing a photo dump with her 13.8 million followers that included a mirror selfie showing her hand on her stomach. Fans in the comments speculated she might be expecting a second child, with one writing that they thought there was another baby on the way. After the comment gained more than 200 likes, Jessie responded, joking that the only thing on the way was new music, replying "only my" alongside a record emoji.
