Brazilian actor José Loreto revealed the teasing nickname he gave his girlfriend, actress Nanda Marques, during a television appearance on Sunday, October 25.
Loreto, 42, and Marques, 32, were participating as guest judges on the artistic jury of TV Globo dance competition Dança dos Famosos. The celebrity contest forms a staple of the network Sunday entertainment programming hosted by presenter Luciano Huck. Both Loreto and Marques currently feature in TV Globo telenovela Quem Ama Cuida.
During the broadcast, Huck, 55, asked Marques whether Loreto was known to show off his dancing rhythm at home. Marques, who plays the character Bruna in Quem Ama Cuida, offered glowing praise for her partner. She confirmed that he does, explaining that he dances to everything and performs remarkably well in anything he commits himself to doing.
Teasing nickname revealed on stage
Loreto quickly followed her compliments by sharing the private nickname he uses for Marques at home, playfully warning the studio audience of controversy before speaking. The actor revealed that he calls her Estabanada, a Portuguese word meaning clumsy or scatterbrained that forms a humorous rhyme with her first name. He quipped that she regularly trips over her own legs the moment she wakes up in the morning.
Loreto continued to tease his partner, playfully turning his attention to her own dance floor coordination. He described her as wonderful and sensational, but joked that she possesses an unbelievable lack of rhythm. The actor then suggested that Huck should invite Marques to compete on the next edition of Dança dos Famosos, or alternatively book her on Vídeo Cassetada, the television network longtime comedy segment famous for broadcasting home video bloopers and accidental falls.
Meeting on set and shared projects
The romantic relationship between Loreto and Marques began in 2025, when the pair met during filming for the feature film Chorão: Só os Loucos Sabem. The upcoming biographical drama chronicles the life and career of Brazilian musician Chorão, the late frontman of the popular rock group Charlie Brown Jr. That cinematic project is scheduled to premiere in movie theaters in March 2027.
Following their work on the film set, both performers reunited professionally in the cast of Quem Ama Cuida, an evening telenovela created by screenwriters Walcyr Carrasco and Claudia Souto. Marques appears as Bruna, while Loreto also forms part of the daily production. Beyond their television work in the studios, the couple was also recently spotted spending time together during a day out at the beach in Rio de Janeiro.
