Colombian music star Karol G has donated $1.2 million to support housing reconstruction and aid families affected by a devastating magnitude 7.4 earthquake in Colombia.
The singer pledged the funds through her non-profit organization, the Con Cora Foundation, during the Colombia: Voces por la vida benefit concert held on Sunday in the capital city of Bogota.
The event brought together more than 40,000 in-person spectators and attracted millions of viewers online via live streaming, raising record funding totals for emergency relief efforts.
Karol G, whose real name is Carolina Giraldo Navarro, was unable to attend the concert physically in Bogota due to existing scheduling commitments on her international concert tour. However, the artist, widely known by her moniker La Bichota, connected live from Los Angeles to participate in the broadcast.
