Shakira, Rosalía, Aitana and Karol G are among the leading nominees for the 2026 Premios Juventud, the Spanish-language youth music and entertainment awards, which will hand out its prizes on September 3 in Marbella, Spain.
The ceremony marks the first time the awards have been held in Spain, moving away from their traditional hosts in the United States and Latin America, including Miami, Puerto Rico and Panama.
In the Female Youth Artist category, the nominees are Aitana, Ana Mena, Karol G, Rosalía and Shakira.
Rosalía arrives with five nominations following the impact of her album "LUX," which is up for Album of the Year. She is also nominated for My Favorite Track for "La Perla," recorded with Yahritza Y Su Esencia, for Girl Power with "La Rumba del Perdón," and for Best Tour with her "Lux Tour."
Aitana has four nominations. She is up for Female Youth Artist, while her album "Cuarto Azul" is nominated for Best Pop Album. Her song "Superestrella" is also among the contenders for Best Euro-Song, and her collaboration with Plex earned a nomination in the Couple Goals category, recognising the pair's public profile.
The Favorite Group or Duo of the Year category includes Gente de Zona, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Maná, Mau y Ricky and Morat, among others.
Shakira's song "Dai Dai," recorded with Nigerian artist Burna Boy, is nominated for OMG Collaboration. The Colombian singer is also up for Best Tour for her "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour." In total, Shakira holds six nominations this year, matching the six held by Karol G.
The Best Pop Album category features Pablo Alborán for "KM0," Alejandro Sanz for "¿Y ahora qué +?" and Aitana for "Cuarto Azul."
Marbella hosts the awards for the first time
The Premios Juventud ceremony will take place at the Starlite Auditorium in Marbella on September 3, the first time the event has been staged outside the Americas.
Organisers said the show in the Andalusian city will serve as the climax of a wider event that combines the gala with concerts, gatherings and activities centred on Latin music and digital culture. While Marbella hosts the main ceremony, the surrounding festival programme begins on August 29 in Miami, with additional events planned in Houston and Los Angeles.
Origins of the Premios Juventud
The Premios Juventud were created in 2004 by the US Spanish-language network Univision. The awards were launched to celebrate and recognise talent across Hispanic entertainment, spanning music, film, television, fashion and sport, with young audiences voting directly for their favourites through digital platforms.
For nearly two decades, the ceremony was based permanently in South Florida. In recent years, however, organisers began experimenting with other locations, taking the live event to Puerto Rico and Panama before expanding to Europe for the first time this year.
Over the years, the categories and overall format of the show have shifted to keep pace with changing trends in youth media consumption. What began as a television-only gala has grown into a festival built around concerts, immersive experiences and interactive events held in the days leading up to the main ceremony.
