American singer Katy Perry has revealed she put her foot down after her six-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, expressed plans to climb onto a roof while singing along to one of her hit tracks. Perry, 41, shared the parenting moment during an interview with Entertainment Tonight published on August 27.
The moment occurred when Daisy was singing the lyrics to Perry's hit 2010 single The One That Got Away, which features the line, "Stole your parents' liquor and climb to the roof." Perry said her daughter turned to her after singing the words and announced, "One day, when I'm older, I'm going to do that."
Perry immediately rejected the idea, telling her daughter, "No, you ain't, girl!" before adding, "Our roof is too high!" Perry shares Daisy with her ex-partner, English actor Orlando Bloom.
Describing her daughter's personality, Perry admitted that the young girl is becoming a daredevil. "She is straightforward, has no fear," Perry explained. "She is both Orlando and myself."
Childhood Milestones and Tooth Fairy Visits
The former American Idol judge said she is enjoying all the childhood magic in Daisy's life, including her reaction to losing her front teeth. Perry recounted that when Daisy lost her first tooth, she specifically asked for orange Tic Tacs to mark the occasion, matching her mother's favorite treat.
Perry said the tooth fairy obliged by delivering a small bag of orange Tic Tacs along with a note. According to Perry, the tooth fairy told Daisy, "This is the perfect little slot to put it in."
The pop star recalled how excited Daisy was by the gesture. Perry said, "I'd slide it through there and she'd be so happy."
Birthday Trips and Concert Costumes
Daisy recently celebrated her sixth birthday with a family trip to Legoland California Resort. In addition to celebrating milestones, Perry has been planning ahead for her daughter's future wardrobe by saving many of her stage outfits.
The Teenage Dream singer revealed that she has set aside concert costumes over the years for Daisy to wear when she gets older. Perry assured that there are plenty of iconic looks to go around, noting, "She has more than enough. Her cousins have enough. Everybody has enough."
Background on Perry and Bloom
Perry rose to international fame with her 2008 album One of the Boys before releasing her multi-platinum 2010 album Teenage Dream.
