Dancer Lola Garcia has asked her partner Kiko Rivera to have a child together, forcing the son of Isabel Pantoja to consider reversing his vasectomy. The request follows an exclusive report yesterday that the couple plans to marry before the end of this year.
Rivera underwent a vasectomy years ago to prevent having more children and cannot currently procreate. Speaking in an interview earlier this year, Rivera said he believes that becoming a mother is the dream of almost every woman and that Garcia belongs to that majority. He explained that he could not grant her wish because of his surgery.
Rivera added that he did not know God had prepared this gift for him, noting that he would not have had the operation if he had known. He stated that knowing he cannot give her what she wants, while she still chooses to stay with him, is the greatest demonstration of affection in the world.
Surgical Reversal Options
Garcia may have asked Rivera to undergo a complex microsurgery called vasovasostomy to reconnect the vas deferens, or a procedure known as epididymovasostomy. Experts note that vasectomy reversal is costly, delicate, and not guaranteed to succeed, meaning a vasectomy should always be treated as permanent contraception.
Reversal surgery requires a surgical microscope and specialized skills to reconnect the ducts with very fine sutures. By contrast, a standard vasectomy is a minor scalpel-free procedure done under local anesthesia. Surgeons make a puncture in the scrotal skin above the testicles to locate, tie, and cut the vas deferens, blocking the path of sperm.
When standard reversal is not possible, surgeons perform an epididymovasostomy, which is a complex urological microsurgery lasting about five hours. The operation connects the vas deferens directly to the epididymis to bypass an obstruction and restore sperm to the ejaculate. Medical professionals use this technique for difficult vasectomy reversals or congenital blockages.
Legal Action and Public Pressure
Alongside his family plans, Rivera is currently studying how to bring Irene Rosales and Jessica Bueno before a judge. Meanwhile, Rosales recently avoided a face-to-face encounter with Garcia outside the doors of her home.
Rivera has also deleted his social media accounts to avoid reading further online criticism. Friends and observers note that Garcia has provided strong support to Rivera during this transitional period.
