Brazilian singer Leonardo has criticised the cuisine in Saint-Tropez, saying the food was very pretty but tasted of nothing during a luxury holiday in France.
The 63-year-old musician is taking a European break in the south of France alongside his wife, digital influencer Poliana Rocha, and several friends. On Saturday, October 3, Rocha shared videos on social media documenting the group visiting an upscale beach kiosk in the resort town, where her husband offered an unexpectedly blunt reaction after failing to approve of the meal.
When an accompanying friend asked him what he thought of Saint-Tropez, the singer did not hide his disappointment with the local cooking. Leonardo told the group that although the presentation was exceptionally attractive, the food itself had no taste whatsoever.
Travels across France
The dining critique is the latest story to emerge from the performer's trip across France. During his stay, Leonardo has been greeted warmly by fans who praised his friendly personality, danced alongside street vendors during an impromptu outing, and joked that he and his companions experienced several travel mishaps after arriving in Paris.
Leonardo, born Emival Eterno da Costa, is one of Brazil's most celebrated sertanejo stars. He rose to national prominence in the 1980s and 1990s alongside his late brother in the duo Leandro and Leonardo, before continuing with a hugely successful solo career. His holiday destination, Saint-Tropez, is a Mediterranean resort town on the French Riviera famous for high-end hospitality, glamorous beach clubs, and catering to international celebrities.
Doctor-ordered alcohol fast
The overseas break followed a demanding personal challenge for the veteran performer. Leonardo recently set himself the goal of spending 30 consecutive days without consuming alcohol, an abstinence undertaken following a recommendation from his doctor.
He ended the alcohol fast on Monday, September 28, shortly before boarding his flight to France. Reflecting on his month of sobriety, the singer admitted to his followers that going without alcoholic drinks had proved difficult and that he had endured some tough moments throughout the period.
