So that you can make a mega hair perfect, you need to have a healthy scalp and hair that is not too thin. The length must be at least 7 cm. If there is dermatitis or infection on the scalp, treatment should be done before placing the threads. The same rule applies to those who are being treated with cancer chemotherapyhave anemia or are breastfeeding.

In cases of androgenetic alopecia and hair loss due to hormonal imbalance, with frontal baldness for example, it is possible to position the megahair in the region that is not affected by it, exploiting the strands that are still so damaged and leaving the most compromised areas free to be treated.

What care should we take with mega hair?

Mega hair does the same job as long hair. Your locks tend to get tangled more easily than natural hair. This is why brushing your hair is essential.

Brush the strands gently, at least three times a day, with wide bristle combs. Hydration is indicated every 15 days. It’s also worth mentioning that every one to two months you need to adjust the length, to align with the natural strands that grow over time.

One trick that can help keep your hair looking healthier and tidier is to wear a silk cap or hat to protect it from dryness and hair breakage. Silk helps keep moisture in the hair, preventing frizz and tangles.

For those who practice a water sport that requires hours of training or work outdoors with lines exposed to the sun, heat and wind, for example, care must be taken.

Incorrectly applied techniques can cause pain. Those who are very sensitive to pain should avoid it.

What can’t I do with mega hair?

Enjoying the heat on the beaches is not forbidden, but too much sun can compromise the duration of the technique. It is also not recommended to leave the hair in contact with water for a long time to avoid detachment of the strands.

The ideal is to wash your hair with mega hair three times a week. But when washing, avoid any movement that holds and tangles the threads. Wash your hair gently, without rubbing your scalp vigorously. And when washing, avoid shampoos and conditioners with keratin.

After getting out of the water, the ideal is to dry the hair root immediately with a hair dryer. It is also not recommended to sleep with wet hair, as the extension could go mouldy, detach the adhesives and soften the keratin glue.

Never run the dryer, iron or babyliss on the seams, because the heat can take away the stretch. The ideal is to use the straightener keeping a minimum space of three fingers away from the joint. In the case of a hair dryer, adjust the air to hot or cold temperature and apply keeping a distance of 15cm from the hair.

After application, it is also recommended to avoid tight ponytails and hairstyles that trap and stress the hair too much.

How long does mega hair last?

Strains, if well cared for, last an average of 1 to 1 and a half years. Remembering that periodic maintenance must be carried out, which varies according to the technique used. For example, 1 to 2 months in the case of applications with adhesive tape, or every 2 or 3 months, in the application with keratin microcapsules and extension with the artisan method, strand by strand.

Mega hair is indicated for those who want to change their look with long hair, overnight, for vanity or for professional reasons. The procedure is also highly sought after by women who have experienced hair loss due to health issues and want to regain their self-confidence.

What is the difference between mega hair and applique?

Mega is the American term that refers to the most long-lasting and also permanent hair extension technique. Appliques are more instantaneous, short-lived. The strands are attached to the hair by buckles and can be positioned and removed on the spot.
