What should be considered other than the size of the sleeping bedding?

Material composition

Prefer bedding made of breathable and breathable fabric. This feature is inherent in natural materials – cotton, linen and silk. In addition, these fabrics do not cause allergies and do not irritate the skin. A good quality fabric retains its original appearance for a long time even after many washes (of course, when you choose the right washing mode suitable for this material, you can see it on the label of the bedding or on the packaging ).

Cotton

Cotton bedding is a great option! Soft, comfortable, does not cause allergies – this material is good in almost all respects. Admittedly, it wrinkles a lot, and if you are a fan of perfect order, the laundry will often have to be ironed.

Silk

Perfect for summer! It is not hot to sleep on silk underwear, it creates the illusion of coolness. Since silk is very smooth, it is best to choose a silk sheet with an elastic band so that the linen does not slip or slide off the bed.

Atlas

Just like silk, satin is ideal for the warm season. In winter, on such linen you will be cool and not very comfortable, unless, of course, your house is heated to the maximum. Atlas looks spectacular and “luxury”, so it is better to combine it with an interior in a classic style, and not with loft or high-tech styles, which are characterized by their conciseness.

Flannel

Flannel bed linen is ideal for the cold season due to its warming and velvety properties. As a rule, these underwear also contain a certain amount of synthetic fibers.

To bark

Bark (reaper or crepe) is a pleated cotton fabric. It is often used to make inexpensive bedding. This material does not wrinkle and is therefore very easy to maintain, but it wears out quickly and fades. Bark underwear can hardly be called soft, so if you are used to sleeping like on a cloud, then this fabric will definitely not suit you.

Polyester

Economy bedding is most often made of polyester. Low cost is certainly a plus, but there are enough minuses for such underwear. For example, polyester has poor breathability. This fabric is not breathable at all.

Cambric

Batiste is a fine fabric made from cotton or linen fibers. Most often, pillowcases or other individual elements of bed linen are sewn from it. Suitable for the hot season.

Some tips for choosing your bed linen

Rate the packaging

“We are greeted by clothes” – this truth also applies to the things we surround ourselves with, so be careful about the packaging of underwear. If the manufacturer positions itself as a premium class, then the packaging should correspond – good print quality on the label, a beautiful design and the availability of all the necessary information. On the packaging you should easily find an indication of the composition of the fabric, the number of elements and their sizes, and care instructions. Here, as with the documents, you cannot sign until you have read everything. Pay attention to what is written in fine print. Some manufacturers try to be tricky and sometimes put conflicting basic information in the fine print. For example, a large inscription indicates that the set is made of silk, and a detailed examination of the packaging reveals that there are very few natural fibers in the material.

smell the laundry

This trick may seem strange, but the smell says a lot about a product. Linen should not emit chemical fragrances. This means that a poor quality dye or synthetic material was used. Such a set of bed linen can quickly come off as a result of washing.

Pay attention to pattern and color

If it is very shiny on the front, but faded from the inside, such laundry will quickly lose its appearance after several washes.
