Progenitor of the project, the 23-year-old top model, protagonist of a campaign for Skims, the underwear brand led by the American socialite Kim Kardashian, it will also promote the connection of content to national and international industry professionals, with the aim of generating opportunities in different areas, such as fashion, music, production, visual arts and photography.
“We have been dedicating ourselves to this project for several months, together with a specialized team, with the aim of generating new possibilities for the young people of the favela, who struggle and dream of a space in such contested markets. We want their work and their creations to be recognized by those who generate opportunities,” said the young woman, who dated Kenye West.
The project is a goal that Juliana has been thinking about for some time. In an exclusive interview with “Them on the Red Carpet”, in February 2022 she already had this in mind: “I am very grateful for everything I have experienced and for what I have learned on this journey. My next step is to create a social project to help young people in the community I grew up in,” the model revealed.
In fact, she’s always said she’s proud of her heritage. In the same interview, ratified this: “I’m very proud to have come from a community. Out here, when they know me and ask me where I’m from, I already say full of pride: “I’m from Rio, from the favela”. With your mouth full, because this is how we will change this stereotype that coming from the favela is a bad thing, reaching high places and beating your chest with great pride saying that you are from Chapadão, Cidade de Deus or wherever your root is For me to be born there it was a blessing, I was able to have incredible experiences and prove that I was really “good”!
A fashion actress since the age of 14, Juliana left the suburban community where she lived with her family, Rio de Janeiro, to star in major advertising campaigns around the world. In 2016 she won the competition “CUFA – Unleash your brilliance”produced by Rede Globo in collaboration with Central Única das Favelas.
Since then, she has revealed herself in fashion, moved to Los Angeles and collects campaigns for powerful personalities such as L’Oréal, Skims, Yeezy, Urban Outfitters, American Eagle, among many others. Represented in Brazil by Pedro Bellver and Wellington Vieira, of Mix Models, Juliana Nalú has already worked in other contested markets, such as the UK, Spain and Greece.
Parallel to her success in fashion, Juliana graduated in Performing Arts at CAL – Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras and participated in the latest episode of the telenovela “Second Sun”by Rede Globo, as Chay Suede’s romantic partner, in 2018.
“My mother always struggled a lot. I never had luxuries in my childhood and adolescence, but I had the essentials to become who I am today: lots of love and education. I am very grateful for all that I have experienced and for what I’ve learned in this path. opportunity – and that’s what we want to encourage with this project”, he concluded.
