“In class, I like to encourage students to lose the fear of making mistakes and try to create a welcoming environment. My goal is to discover themselves in movement. So, you don’t have to dance like me or like Anitta . dancing is very beautiful and I consider this practice as a body therapy,” she says.
INTEREST IN DANCE
According to Isa, dance has been by her side since childhood when she started venturing into this modality. At the age of four she began doing calisthenics and ballet, which she continued until she was 17.
“I was an athlete in the state of Santa Catarina, I competed a lot. However, I got injured in gymnastics, which motivated me to migrate to another dance style: hip hop,” he declares.
Despite having thought about continuing in the profession, as well as other facts of her life, her interest in fashion ended up speaking the loudest, leading her on different paths.
“When I was 18 I wanted to study dance at university, but my mother died when I was 15, and my father was worried at the time, because when I was a gymnastics athlete I was in a lot of pain, I had several problems with my spine. Then I graduated in fashion, which I also love and have been working for 10 years”.
Admirer of the videodance style, her main inspirations are: Michael Jackson, Britney Spears and Madonna.
THE IDEA OF THE NIGHT COURSE
After 10 years of working as a stylist and taking dance only as a hobby in her life, the teacher decided to take up the practice more intensively, a decision which, according to her, was the result of a “super crisis of 28 years “.
When he returned, he heard that most of the dance venues are professional and come with very high demands. “I wanted something lighter, but I also didn’t want something fitness, I didn’t just want to burn calories. I wanted something practical.”
Motivated by this desire, she developed her own dance school, Boate Class, which has been around for five years. “It came from the idea of creating a dance class where the student learns choreography in one class, without having to stop and have something serious. The only commitment is to dance and be happy,” she says.
Regarding the name of his dance school, Zendron says that it represents precisely this possibility of being free. “When we go to the disco to dance, we go to be happy, to be sensual. And that’s it, the intention is to be a dance lesson as if we were in a disco”.
THE CLASSES
Boate Class is the perfect dance school for those who want to have a moment to let off steam and eliminate any negative energy. With elements of pop culture, the lessons prioritize your happiness and your own pace.
“Intended for people aged 12 and over, they take place in Pinheiros and Santa CecÃlia, neighborhoods in the capital of São Paulo. They take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. They last an hour and you learn a choreography for class. I work with various rhythms, various musical styles and I try to pass on some of my knowledge of dance. It’s something very free and intuitive”, explains the teacher.
COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Still working with fashion, in 2018 Isadora opened Nightclub Class. After two years, with the evolution of the courses and the increase in the number of students, she had already put aside her career as a stylist and had dedicated herself exclusively to the dance school. However, like all of us, she didn’t expect her to make a name for herself that same year the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I was super excited and suddenly had to figure out how I was going to fit in. I faced several challenges and had to think about what the dynamics and didactics of the online class would look like. to get hurt at home and, therefore, has always enforced the guidelines,” he says.
Already in the first week of isolation, she went live on social media, an initiative which, according to her, worked very well. “At the time, I had the idea of being an outlet for that horrible moment that everyone was experiencing,” she says.
Currently Boate Class has already resumed face-to-face lessons, but still maintains the online mode for those who prefer to move indoors.
