When it comes to decorating small spaces, small apartments and rooms that need to be well used, it is essential to keep an eye on a few points. To help you decorate your small living roomI have separated here a few tips which, as a specialist and architect, I recommend to you.

wear a palette of light tones like white, nude or even some shades of gray or pastel colors. This will provide more light, resulting in a lighter effect. Black and white is ideal, although a pop of color always brings joy.

If they are long, even better. This will bring a horizontal effect to your home which will make the space appear deeper.

4 – Furniture: less is more

Few and small. Low furniture if the ceiling is high. Preferably light (not solid or heavy).

Sofas with thin armrests or without armrests. Armchairs or chairs are ideal and poufs with space reserved for storage can also be interesting. Hiding them and taking them only when necessary so as not to interfere with passing is another great feature.

5 – Decoration: only the essentials

As with furniture, it is also the motto in small rooms in decoration less is more. Keep the decor of your space simple. Loading the decor with lots of things and items will make the space feel “populated” right away. Having only the essentials creates breathing room and the feeling that the room has more space.

6 – Curtains: to have or not to have?

If you have the choice, my advice is to choose not to have a tent. But if this item is indispensable for you, bet on floor-to-ceiling long curtains in light tones.

7 – Lighting in the right measure

light points directed towards walls or ceilings and having few lamps is the secret to making the room appear larger. Another tip is to prefer embedded commercialsusually plaster. Finally, as an extra tip, something interesting is to get a focal point with some artwork or some piece of furniture that makes a splash in the room. This is a good feature to grab the attention of the space.
