SPFW: Cria Costura brings 27 looks created by peripheral students inspired by ballet

The opportunity to create pieces and show SPFW it is unique and distant to many designers. Well, the project Create sewing offers it to suburban students.

This Saturday (18th), there was the seventh participation of the students in the project, with 27 creations and monitored by the stylist Simone Nunes. The theme was the Triadic Ballet, a reference to the German Bauhaus school, known for the fusion of art, form and movement.

According to promotional material, students were challenged to transform the concepts of geometry and volume into authorial clothing, exploring proportions, textures and colors in compositions ranging from costumes to everyday life.

And this was exactly what we saw on the catwalk. There was a red look made of bows, nylon pieces, like coats, reminiscent of down jackets. And also patchworks of fabrics and colorful prints, born from collages made during the teaching period, which acted as the underlying theme of the show.

Different proportions, overlaps, deconstruction of rigid codes marked the presentation. Eventually, models and creators walked in together, many visually moved. It’s not a surprise.

Cria Costura, a social program of the National Institute of Fashion, Design and Creative Economy (INMODE) in collaboration with the Department of Economic Development and Work of São Paulo (SMDET).

This time the project was divided into two modules, with Simone in the teaching process from the beginning. The first, Accelerador Criativo, began in May and involved 29 students, who learned to create and sew, developing an original look shown at the SPFW N60 exhibition. The second, Módulo Empreendedor, brought together 27 participants from the first group, who created the collection presented at the event.
