In this sense there is the example of volleyball player Ana Beatriz, Bia, 31, who simply passed the moment of tension in the midst of the earthquake in Turkey on February 6, 2023 and redeemed her happiness at Beach Tennis after her return in Brazil.

“As soon as it started (Beach Tennis in Brazil) a long time ago I was already playing on weekends when there were breaks or trips. The first long vacation I had was last year and I started training. I saw that sport is passionate. This vacation will be no different and I’m playing every chance I have,” said Ana Beatriz in an exclusive interview for the sports life.
Beach tennis is the current sensation in Brazil and it helped Ana Beatriz to combine competition with joy until her return to the volleyball courts. It is not only this “boom” of the modality that has attracted Ana, that is, it has been present in her life since its beginnings in Tupiniquim land with jokes on vacation.
“Beach Tennis can be played by anyone, the environment is very nice and you can be with friends. It’s very hot here in Brazil, it’s the summer sport, which I love. I also like the game a lot. You have to have a lot of tactics, I try to evolve to get to the championship and not do badly,” concluded Bia.
In addition to all this relaxation mentioned by Ana in this modality, Beach Tennis is the “fuel” to improve one’s health, examples: muscle strengthening, improvement of physical condition, motor coordination, agility work and obtaining aerobic endurance.

Bia has not renewed the contract with Savino Del Bene Scandicci from Italyafter the 2022/23 season and signed a contract with Kuzeyboru from Turkey, for the 2022/23 season. The athlete’s debut with the Turkish team went as expected until the earthquake that hit that country put an end to that relationship.
Imagine you are inside the apartment celebrating your birthday with two professional colleagues and suddenly this shock happens. Ana Beatriz experienced this episode on February 6 of this year. “It was a very nervous few days,” recalled Bia.
What we have so far after a month of this happening in Turkey and Syria is the data that there have been at least 50,000 deaths in the Turkish nation alone, 214,000 buildings in poor condition and that this catastrophe has affected 11 provinces. Beatriz was moved by the plight of the Turkish people and promoted the campaign on social media to collect food, medicine and clothing. Social media consultant Efekan Pürçekli was another who helped her with the deliveries of these parcels to various homes.
“I managed to form a ‘team’, which was the best I’ve ever played in. People who helped me by sharing, donating, sending positive and concerned energy for me. Everyone felt part of it and it was really nice . People who are following me, that I don’t even know, congratulate you on the attitude,” he said.
Depart from Kuzeyboru
Kuzeyboru is in Aksaray and just when this tragedy broke out he paid for the players and other employees of a hotel in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. A few days later, the team’s management suggested Ana Beatriz to leave or continue to live in that apartment that was broken into during the earthquake. Ana no longer wanted to live there and returned to Brazil.
“It was a very difficult situation. They didn’t understand what I had been through. I explained to them that this doesn’t exist in my country. I was very scared when it happened in the apartment, I was a bit traumatized to be there and asked them to change places apartment. I couldn’t and when I went to get my things I had an anxiety attack. There was no way I could stay there,” she said.
“They (Kuzeyboru leaders) could have understood my part, but this is part of it. situation I am over. It’s over. I’m sure I did my best for them and when nothing happened they did for me, “he added.
The Turkish volleyball calendar resumed activities on March 4 in the women’s championship and on the 8th of this month in the men’s championship. Thus, Kuzeyboru is in the middle of the standings of the Sultanlar Women’s League and still dreams of a place in the “knockout”.
Future
Bia still carries on her curriculum her experiences at Finasa-SP, Praia Clube-MG, Sollys Nestlé-SP, SESI-SP, SESC-RJ and at the Brazilian National, cycle in which she allowed herself to be a member of the Silver medal campaign at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The professional does not prioritize any workplace, i.e. believes there is enough time to define a new career path.
“Right now I’m just thinking about recovering from all the scare I’ve been through, enjoying my family and friends. Soon I’ll think about volleyball again. I don’t rule out (another country) and I like to play in Brazil, all the possibilities are open,” he assured.
Affinity with the ball and chain
Furthermore, Ana Beatriz is a central defender who demonstrates in her daily life that she also knows how to control the ball with her feet. After all, this skill developed when you played soccer as a child and teenager. Lei Bia explained that she opted for volleyball instead of soccer because the scenario of 20-year-old women’s soccer was the opposite of the current one.
“Football is the sport I am most passionate about. When I was young, I competed in clubs and tournaments in Sorocaba. But now women’s football is growing. At that time, it was not a profession that required investment. When I started playing volleyball and it worked, I opted for that, really,” he concluded.
