In the afternoon of Wednesday 15 March, Black Gil shared in their social media, a record in hospital, while being treated for bowel cancer. When diagnosed with the disease, the singer took the opportunity to talk about some essential treatments for the prevention of cancer.
In addition to his photo, Preta has also published some ‘cards’ that exemplify the main symptoms and risk factors of the disease. Her goal is to sensitize her followers to always be aware of their health in order to discover early or even avoid the diagnosis of bowel cancer.
In the caption of the publication, the singer began by writing: “Honey, today is the day to wear blue! I’m in the hospital doing the 5th cycle of chemotherapy, I didn’t have blue pajamas, but nevertheless I came to warn you to talk to you about an important matter! Today is the day to prevent bowel and colorectal cancer”.

She went on to explain that luckily, she was able to contract the disease at an early stage. However, this is not the case for all patients, so self-care and self-knowledge are very important.
“Often we leave our personal commitments ahead of our own health and we don’t see the signs of our body. If you are 45 years old or more and there are cases in the family, seek a doctor and do prevention as soon as possible so that everything goes away very well”.
Preta Gil also talked about what people can do to try and avoid being diagnosed. Healthy eating and exercising are highly recommended, as taking care of and nourishing the body are the best ways to avoid not only cancer, but other diseases as well.
