BBB23: Sarah Aline texturizes her hair with warm water; know the technique

The braid expert spoke with Terra and explained that the finish can be used in a number of ways

Anyone who follows Big Brother Brasil 23 must have already been struck by the beauty of Sarah Aline’s braids, one of the popcorn participants in the edition. The most impressive thing is that even after weeks of confinement her hair remains intact and well cared for.

Over the past week, she’s gone viral doing hot water massages, with help from other siblings. The technique garnered attention and left everyone wondering: How does hot water help keep tresses in place?

The shearer and hairstylist Isabelle Galeazzi explains that the technique is widely used. Since the material used to braid the hair is jumbo, a plastic-based synthetic material, it ends up melting in contact with heat.

“If there’s too much heat, it melts, but if there’s this heat of hot water, it ends up remodeling itself. So, we use it a lot to finish or to give it a shape. There are different textures that we can achieve,” says Isabelle.

In Sarah’s case, since her hair is somewhere between curly and frizzy, braids tend to last longer when done in these strands. “The duration can be determined by several factors: texture of the hair itself, care. Hair that has a lot of contact with water tends to last less, sleeping without a cap causes a lot of friction, which also reduces the life of the braids ”, she warns.
