A former crayon salesman, the model is featured on the Disney+ screen

Yuki Sugimoto, 22, is emerging on the small screen and is one of the protagonists of the first Brazilian science fiction series “Mila in the Multiverse”distributed by Disney+.

In the plot, permeated with adventures and travels to different universes, the model brings to life the character Juliana, a strong and intelligent girl who goes beyond the limits and achieves what she wants. The series has Malu Mader, a scientist and mother of the protagonist Mila.

Before her success in show business, the young woman worked in a pastry stall, selling the delicacy at Sunday fairs, between 2016 and 2019, in the Parque Cidade Nova, in Mogi Guaçu, where she was born. Yuki also worked as a ballet teacher for children – a modality she has been practicing since she was 3 – and as a cashier in a cosmetics store, until she was outed by a modeling agency and changed his career path, in 2019.

“I try to increase the visibility of Japanese-Brazilians and the entire Asian community in the fashion and audiovisual market in Brazil,” he said. An explorer of the arts, she also fell in love with acting, appearing in the series released this year by Disney’s streaming platform. The character of her is the best friend of the protagonist Mila (played by Laura Luz) and according to the plot synopsis, she thirsts for great adventures and never denies a new opportunity to explore new horizons and the unknown.

In fashion, she then became one of Another Agency’s bets and collects campaigns for powerful brands such as Vivara and Converse, fashion shows at Casa de Criadores and editorials in publications such as “Vogue“.
