The Ministry of Health has expanded the vaccination with a bivalent booster dose against covid-19 for the entire population over the age of 18. According to the note issued by the agency on Monday 24, the recommendation aims to strengthen protection against the disease and expand vaccination coverage throughout the country.

About 97 million Brazilians can seek health units in this phase which is part of the National Movement for Vaccination.

The guidance applies to anyone who has already received at least two doses of monovalent vaccines (Coronavirus, Astrazeneca or Pfizer) as a primary schedule or as a booster dose, respecting an interval of four months since the last dose.

Even those who have not yet completed the vaccination cycle and have a delayed booster dose can search the health units.

“I want to call everyone’s union for our National Vaccination Movement. It is a movement of the Ministry of Health, of the States, of the Municipalities and of the entire civil society. Science is back and we must regain the population’s trust in vaccines, it is a mission for all of us,” said Health Minister Nísia Trindade.
