The municipality of São Paulo will start applying the bivalent vaccine from the pfizer for all residents of the capital over the age of 50 as of this Wednesday, 26. Monday, the Ministry of Health it allowed the distribution of the vaccine to the entire population aged 18 or over, depending on availability in the municipalities.
In a note, the Municipal Health Secretariat (Sms) reported that the capital received 161,000 doses of the immunizer on Tuesday. The amount, however, is not enough to serve the entire adult population.
“Our network is structured to vaccinate the entire population with Pfizer’s bivalent dose, we have 470 UBS ready to immunize. Since there are more than 9 million people over 18 in the capital, we will gradually expand vaccination that we will receive new batches,” said the municipal health secretary, Luiz Carlos Zamarco.
In addition to people aged 50 and over, the bivalent vaccine is applied in São Paulo in all priority groups who have completed the primary immunization program (one or two doses) for at least four months.

- Persons over 12 years of age with immunosuppression or comorbidities;
- indigenous;
- pregnant and new-born women;
- residents of long-term institutions and employees of such institutions in the city of São Paulo
- health experts;
- people with permanent physical disability;
- population deprived of their liberty and employees of the penitentiary system;
- street population.
