Shall we overturn the vaccination game in Brazil together?

We have already been among the champions of vaccination coverage in the world, with 95% of people immunized in 2015. The country needs to regain its place on the podium in order not to run the risk of serious diseases returning to circulation

Today is World Immunization Day and, therefore, you will follow the #ViradadaVacina here in Estadão and on all our social media, on the Notícia No Seu Tempo podcast and on Rádio Eldorado. This issue needs to be explored further: Brazil, which was once among the world champions for vaccination coverage, with over 95% of the population protected in 2015, is witnessing a dangerous decline. And, with lower rates, controlled and even eliminated diseases can come back to haunt us.

But we can turn this game upside down, and we have the conditions to do it: we have an internationally recognized National Immunization Program (PNI); at health centers there are free vaccines available to everyone. And for everyone, because our vaccination calendar begins in the maternity ward and accompanies us throughout our lives.

Today, many places change the Corpus Christi holiday and basic health units may be closed. In São Paulo, vaccination is carried out at the Basic Health Units (UBS) and Integrated Ambulatory Medical Assistance (AMA)/UBS from Monday to Friday, from 7:00 to 19:00, Saturdays and public holidays at the AMA/ UBS Integrated, at the same time.

Early Monday morning all places open regularly and you will be able to exercise one of the greatest acts of love with yourself and with others: vaccination. Which here in Brazil is offered for free. A privilege.
