From the morning of Sunday 11 June, the advance of a cold front left the weather unstable and with rain in the border areas of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, which extended to other regions of the state during the day. The rainy weather combined with the wind that blows from the south, due to the approach of an air mass of polar origin, causes a sharp drop in temperatures. From the center to the south of the state, temperatures drop from values ​​close to 30°C on Saturday and do not exceed 15°C on Sunday.

The rainy and cold condition also extends into Monday (12), reaching the other regions of Santa Catarina. The risk of events related to the sharp drop in temperatures is high in the orange areas and moderate in the yellow areas of the map.
