Russian digital influencer Cartier Bugatti, whose real name is 23-year-old Kristina Vishnivetskaya, got the swollen lips after suffering aallergic reaction to a product to remove the lip fillers. Pictures of her swollen face went viral on the internet.
The drug used was Longidaza, which is an immunomodulator with anti-inflammatory properties. The medicine was meant to help tighten Kristina’s lips, but the opposite happened.
In addition to her lips, her cheeks were also swollen and she had to be taken to hospital by ambulance. She was hospitalized for a few days and underwent medical check-ups, but she is now at home.
“I almost died removing lip fillers, they were almost bursting after an allergic reaction,” she told her followers.
He told his 113,000 followers that because the hospital’s doctors were quick to detect the reaction, a more serious case, called Quincke’s edema, which affects the deepest layers of a person’s skin, was avoided.
Quincke’s edema can lead to swelling of a person’s throat, resulting in difficulty breathing and it can be fatal in some cases.
