the story of Galinha Pintadinha was born in December 2006, when the creators of the character, Juliano Prado and Marcos Luporin, posted the first video on YouTube. A few months later, the duo noticed that the number of views was only increasing: it was already almost 500 thousand. Hence the impetus for the first DVD and, as a result, a series of hits that delight children and impress adults!

“The fame achieved by Galinha Pintadinha is unimaginable. We just wanted to produce beautiful and funny music videos and make a cartoon DVD. We imagined selling a maximum of two thousand copies. And we sold more than 3.5 million,” said Juliano Prato to the child.

The success kept growing

“It’s crazy to think that, after 15 years, Chicken is already part of Brazilian culture as a character in our imagination and is so successful with generations of families. Nowadays, we already have mothers who have listened in the past and now introduce it to their children”, celebrates the partner-creator.

And no wonder: the main YouTube channel (Galinha Pintadinha) currently has 33.7 million subscribers and 65 videos posted, which generated more than 27 billion (yes, billion!) total views. Upa Cavalinho is the most viewed, with 2.5 billion views.

Adding up all the other related channels (such as the one that brings together the extras, Galinha Pintadinha Mini and in other languages), there are around 54 million subscribers and 37 billion total views. Oh!

Product that does not age

Dear Popó is also present on social networks on TikTok, where he has 1.5 million followers and over 13 million likes. For Juliano, keeping up with market news is essential. “A Galinha was born with a digital DNA and is always attentive to technological innovations, in the production and distribution of its content, offering new experiences to its audience,” he says.

Furthermore, he points to the care of children as one of the central points of creation. “The secret to always keeping up with generational changes is that the our content respects and encourages inclusion in childhood, conveying simple values, but introducing broad concepts. We are aware that the Chicken is the first character in the child’s life and that she and her entire group are important in the formation of the little ones”, Juliano reiterates.
