Cream of corn:

  • 1 can of canned corn
  • 3/4 cup (tea) of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 tablespoon chopped or grated onion
  • salt and pepper

PRE-PREPARATION:

  1. Separate recipe ingredients and utensils.
  2. Drain the corn in a colander and wash it under running water to remove any canning residue.
  3. Place half the amount of corn in a blender, add the milk, and blend until smooth, about 3 minutes.
  4. Wash, peel, chop or grate the onion

PREPARATION:

Cream of corn:

  1. In a skillet, over low heat, melt the butter – don’t let it change color.
  2. Increase the heat to medium, add the onion, a pinch of salt and saute until translucent.
  3. Add the remaining corn (that was not beaten), season with salt and pepper, and continue to saute for 2 more minutes.
  4. Add the beaten corn to the blender and when it boils, turn the heat down to medium.
  5. Cook the creamed corn, stirring, until thickened, 5 to 7 minutes.
  6. Check the seasoning (salt and pepper).
  7. Put out the fire.

FINISHING AND ASSEMBLY:

  1. fix the cream of corn on a platter or in a bowl or, if you prefer, spread across plates, next to or on top of your main course.
