the American Jim Arrington90 years old, he held the title of the oldest bodybuilder in the world second Guinness World Book, known as the book of records. Seven years later, he’s still engaged in an intense exercise routine, and as of late 2022, he’s even posed nude for men’s health magazine.
Jim strength-trains at least three times a week, in workouts that last about two hours. He says he’s found a great way to do the exercises. “There are 10 reps followed by 10 seconds of weight hold and then another 10 reps, several times. Feel the burn. No pain, no gain”, says Jim in an interview with the Guinness Book, and in reference to the catchphrase already known to bodybuilders.
Even your diet to keep fit for many years has changed. Before, Jim says, he ate lots of eggs and milk, “the old-fashioned way.” Today he prefers mushrooms and olive oil based foods, as he considers them less inflammatory.
In addition to his modern physique, Jim also carries several bodybuilding awards. He continues to compete and says he has already participated in more than 60 such competitions.
Anyone who sees him in good health today cannot imagine that Jim went through difficult times in terms of health early in his life. Born premature, he was asthmatic as a child and was often ill. But in 1947, at the age of 15, he decided that he would become his superhero and turned to bodybuilding.
