Milanese Stuffed Olives
Time: 1 hour
Performance: 6 portions
Difficulty: easy
Ingredients:
- 500 g of pitted green olives
- 150 g of diced mozzarella
- 1 cup of milk (tea)
- 1 egg
- 1 cup wheat flour (tea)
- 1 pinch of chemical yeast
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fry oil
Homemade katchup
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 chopped onion 2 cans diced peeled tomatoes
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon (coffee) of cloves powder
- 1/2 cup (tea) brown sugar
- 1/3 cup vinegar (tea)
- 1/3 cup (tea) water
Method of preparation:
- For the ketchup, in a skillet, heat the oil over medium heat and saute the onion for 4 minutes
- Add the tomatoes, salt, pepper and cloves. Lower the heat and cook for 20 minutes.
- Add sugar and mix
- Transfer to the blender and beat in the vinegar and water
- Return to the pan, over low heat, then cook for 10 minutes.
- Let cool and reserve
- In the meantime, stuff the olives with the mozzarella, being careful not to break them.
- In a bowl, mix the milk and egg until smooth.
- Add the flour, baking powder, salt, pepper and mix
- Dip each olive in this mixture and fry, a little at a time, in hot oil until golden brown.
- Drain on absorbent paper and serve immediately with the ketchup.
