Milanese Stuffed Olives

Time: 1 hour

Performance: 6 portions

Difficulty: easy

Ingredients:

  • 500 g of pitted green olives
  • 150 g of diced mozzarella
  • 1 cup of milk (tea)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup wheat flour (tea)
  • 1 pinch of chemical yeast
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fry oil

Homemade katchup

  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 chopped onion 2 cans diced peeled tomatoes
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon (coffee) of cloves powder
  • 1/2 cup (tea) brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup vinegar (tea)
  • 1/3 cup (tea) water

Method of preparation:

  1. For the ketchup, in a skillet, heat the oil over medium heat and saute the onion for 4 minutes
  2. Add the tomatoes, salt, pepper and cloves. Lower the heat and cook for 20 minutes.
  3. Add sugar and mix
  4. Transfer to the blender and beat in the vinegar and water
  5. Return to the pan, over low heat, then cook for 10 minutes.
  6. Let cool and reserve
  7. In the meantime, stuff the olives with the mozzarella, being careful not to break them.
  8. In a bowl, mix the milk and egg until smooth.
  9. Add the flour, baking powder, salt, pepper and mix
  10. Dip each olive in this mixture and fry, a little at a time, in hot oil until golden brown.
  11. Drain on absorbent paper and serve immediately with the ketchup.
