The actress went on to say that people have never seen Gosling as he is Barbie. “He Can do it all, and he does it all in this film. I’m not kidding when I say people have never seen it like this before; it’s extraordinary and the spectrum is quite broad,” said Robbie. “The journey is hysterical and confusing and hilarious and ever so genuine, and he’s taken this already brilliant character in the script and sent him into the stratosphere.”
“We couldn’t have done it without Ryan, and it takes a very specific type of actor to pull off what was needed for that character,” said the actress and producer. “But more importantly, I think it takes a very specific guy to live up to what he wants, and he’s our guy. We are very lucky.”
The actor fired back, saying he considers himself lucky to be a part of the project and credits part of the success of his performance to Greta Gerwig’s bold direction.
