Of the 100 most iconic ice creams in the world, 2 are in Brazil. This is underlined by the list of the gastronomic encyclopedia of Taste Atlas, released yesterday (21). Brazilian tapioca and açaí were selected, the first from Sorveteria Da Ribeira, from Salvador, Bahia, and the second from Sorveteria Cairu, from Belém, Pará.

But how much does it cost to eat these delicacies appreciated by Brazilians and foreigners? Degusta contacted the two ice cream parlors to find out the prices of the winning flavours.

Tapioca ice cream, from Sorveteria da Ribeira, costs R$12 (1 scoop) or R$20 (two scoops). All available flavors are sold at the same price.

At Sorveteria Cairu, in Belém, you’ll spend R$15 for a scoop of the award-winning açaí ice cream or R$29 for two scoops. There is also the option of a cone or cup, both for the same price.

The typical Brazilian ice creams are in the same list that highlights the Italian, American and even the ice cream of our Argentine brothers, represented by the dulce de leche.

“This list presents the 100 most iconic gelaterias and gelaterias that have left an indelible mark on the global dessert scene. It includes establishments that have been perfecting their art for more than a century, serving ancient flavors such as chocolate and pistachio, or inventive combinations such as ricotta and pear, sesame seeds and rice”, reads the text of the Atlas of Taste.
