Raul Neto comments on the performance of the Cleveland Cavaliers
“I think it was a good season. We reached the playoffs that Cleveland hadn’t reached in a long time. I had some good games, I had some chances, I expected to have more, but when I did I did well. So, I think it was a good season,” guaranteed Raul.
The Cavaliers finished in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, which allowed the team to advance to the playoffs. However, the team was disqualified after losing 4-1 in the series to the New York Knicks.
“I think what was missing in our playoffs were some details. I think our most important players didn’t play great games. And, in a team that I think depends so much on one or the other player, it was really missing. The New York Knicks team had a great playoffs, they came very prepared and I think our offense didn’t know how to adjust the defense. Something they did during these games,” commented the player.
Raulzinho finished the 2022/23 season for the Cavaliers averaging 3.3 points, 1 rebound, 1.6 assists and a 51.8% hitting rate. Also, the athlete hints at his future in the NBA, which remains undefined.
Brazilian team
The playmaker represented Brazil at the Rio 2016 Olympics. And he was called up by the Brazilian national coach, Gustavo de Conti, to participate in the World Cup. Competition that will start on August 25th, will end on September 10th. The tournament will take place in three countries: Japan, the Philippines and Indonesia.
Brazil are in Group G together with Spain, Iran and the Ivory Coast. The group winners and runners-up can play Canada, Latvia, Lebanon or France in the second stage. “The national team is renewing itself. And I think that in the qualifying windows for the World Cup and for last year’s Copa América it showed that it is growing. The players who didn’t have so much experience three or four years ago have already managed to consolidate more in basketball, both in the team and in the national team. So, I see a moment of growth in the Brazilian national team.
But the point guard’s attention is not limited to this World Cup in Asia. After all, winning an Olympic medal means your career dream has come true.
“Of course. An Olympic medal is the dream and achievement of a goal for all athletes. All athletes dream and aim to achieve this goal and in my situation it is no different. It is definitely one of the highest goals I have,” concluded Raul Neto.
