The architect shows how to create an inspiring and elegant environment to give to your father
This Sunday we celebrate Father’s Day: the time has come to try to choose a good gift. For parents who love a good drink, setting up their own bar is an alternative. Often, for some, thinking about the idea of a home bar is a dream. For others, making it blend in with their surroundings and look good is very difficult. But the reality is that there are many options for blending a stylish modern bar with the rest of the house and presenting your dad in the best possible way.

The most important thing about a house is to be a home and a safe haven of calm and warmth for its inhabitants. However, we know that’s not always the case. An Ikea survey revealed that only 57% of people who live with their family or alone say they feel at home. Therefore, it is essential that more and more ways are sought to identify people with their homes. Bringing a space like this into your home can be an even greater gift.
Space can generate connection
Inserting a bar environment into the home opens up possibilities for entertainment, conversation and connection, with oneself and with the people with whom one shares a home, as architect Luciana Patriarcha explains.
“It is often used for a moment of relaxation and relaxation, alone or with the other inhabitants of the house; and even in a meeting with friends, a bar in the house creates a relaxed space of coexistence, ideal for those who do not have much time or he doesn’t like to leave the house and the home bar never closes,” he recalls.
The architect lists some tips for best setting up your indoor bar. Watch:
1. Integrate environments
The biggest question when if you talk about a bar at home it’s like not leaving it out of tune with the rest of the house. “Usually the bar is set up on the terrace, near the barbecue or some armchairs from which to enjoy the view from the balcony, but it can also be set up in the living room next to the home theater sofa or in a small living room”, suggests Luciana.
For the professional, “the ideal is to keep the same style that is being used in the rest of the environment to be very harmonious; when we don’t have space for a planned bar, we can also use bar trolleys, which, in addition to being compact , have wheels and can be taken from the living room to the terrace if necessary”, he explains.
2. Do something elegant
Having a place to drink in the house can be very intriguing for visitors, but it can be intriguing because it is so unusual and harmonious. “Good LED lighting in the joinery elevates the furniture a lot, plus the glass doors in the cabinet display the bowls; they can be clear, fluted or even reflective glass. Alcoves for decoration make the cabinet lighter and can be used to display souvenir travel items, such as personalized mugs from various countries. A nice tray with sophisticated drinks is a great option to add that touch of elegance,” she advises.
3. Don’t skimp on items
It is useless to have a bar if the apparent drinks are not of sophistication and attract the attention of passers-by. “Ideally, bowls and serving glasses should be on display, in addition to bottles for drinks, as long as they are harmonious. Keeping this in mind, you understand that if you have some transparent bowls, some blue and some yellow, the ideal is that only those that are in the color palette they are on display and the others are kept. The same happens with liquids and beverage bottle colors: mixing bottles and liquids of all colors creates visual confusion. So, always keep the colors that match the complement is ideal and the rest in closed cupboards”, says the architect.
4. Think about the different uses
In addition to being a drinking environment, the bar can also be related to a place of conviviality and peace. “More and more often we have received requests from customers to include bar corners and sideboards in projects. Many are asking for the bar to be integrated with the cafeteria, a space dedicated to relaxation and relaxation; the house has been a point of refuge and warmth in the midst of an increasingly busy and frenetic life, we constantly need a break, and to be able to do it without leaving the house, with your favorite drink in your favorite armchair, a good book and slippers, it’s very satisfying,” she adds.
5. Every home and every room is unique
Remember that every home must have the energy and the sensations of its inhabitants: there is no magic formula to feel at home. “The gaze of a professional makes the difference in the development of environments that are increasingly meaningful and connected with the residents. Through psycho-architecture they are able to identify what makes each individual feel at peace and translate it into solutions inside their own home in so that it is a refuge where energies are relieved and recharged in every detail”, concludes Luciana Patriarcha.
