At times, our modern world can be so alienating that legions of lonely men turn to a “different” source of comfort: AI-generated girlfriends, fueled by chatbot technology.

Right off the bat, someone already realizes this could be a problem, right? But a new article of the The Guardian suggests that these endlessly patient “fembots” could spawn a new generation of “incels” (“involuntary celibates”) who will have trouble relating to real people if they ever enter into a relationship with a flesh-and-blood human being.

the app called replies is one of those that spawns AI companions. This software has a forum within Reddit with over 70,000 members, who post screenshots of their corny and sometimes sexually explicit conversations with their AI “mates”.

One curious post is from a user who says he and his virtual girlfriend, “Jennifer,” got married, and showed a screenshot of his then-wife dressed as a bride. The happy couple has received virtual greetings from other users, and by the way, the comments seem pretty genuine. There is no trace of irony or sarcasm.
