The character’s classic voice actor, Charles Martinet, will continue with the company in another role.
Charles Martinetti will no longer be the voice of Mario in the games of nintendo, the company announced this Monday 11, via Twitter. The classic voice actor has held the position since 1995.
In a brief two-paragraph note posted on Nintendo’s US profile, the company thanked the 67-year-old actor for his services. And he has communicated that he will carry out a new role within the videogame giant.
“Charles is taking on the new role of Ambassador Mario. With this transition, he will no longer be recording character voices for our games, but will continue to travel the world sharing the joy of Mario and interacting with all of you!” says Nintendo. See the post below in English.

In the character’s most recent film, Super Mario Bros. Film, Charles voiced Mario’s father in a cameo. The production was shrouded in controversy because Chris Pratt took over the voiceover of the iconic chubby, moustached plumber. Fans weren’t too happy..
In addition to Mario, Charles was the in-game voice of Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, and many other variations of the characters.
