According to her, planting in plates is the most common method, as it is the fastest.

Planting with emerald grass seeds

For those who want to plant emerald grass from seed, the landscaper provides the following instructions:

-

“To plant the seed, build square beds 1 m wide and 50 cm long, with a distance of 30 cm between each square. The plants grow within the stipulated dimensions.

With a shovel or a hoe you have to wet the earth, turn it over and distribute seeds or plants of emerald grass. Next you need to cover them with a layer of earth. Subsequently it is possible to water the crop moderately to avoid the creation of puddles”.

Lighting

As it is a slow growing herb, it needs direct light. “Is required, at least six hours of sunlight a day so that it can develop well”, comments Renata.

He adds that it is not a recommended species for humid or semi-shady environments. Emerald grass is also not the choice for sports practices, i.e. it is not the grass for soccer fields, as its resistance to trampling is low.

pruning

The recommendation is that the leaves are pruned whenever they reach a height of between 2 – 2.5 cm.

Fertilizer and watering

“The grass needs to be fed regularly to stay green and healthy. Water twice a week so the soil stays moist, but not soggy,” concludes Renata.
