The driver of the application Regilânio da Silva, who was paralyzed after being hit by a weight machine in a gym in Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará, has regained feeling in his legs, he told police. Earth this Monday 28.

According to Regilânio, he is currently doing physical therapy from Monday to Friday. “There are days of the week that are twice a day. Now the nurse comes once a week and the psychologist also comes once a week,” he explains.

According to the driver, before undergoing the surgery, he palpated her body only from the navel up. “The sensitivity started after the surgery, that is when I started feeling it in my hip. Regilânio also spoke of all the sympathy he received from several people after the accident, which allowed him to raise funds to be able to continue treatment at home.

In the images, taken by security cameras, the student appears seated at the base of a device, when a few seconds later the device collapses on his shoulders. The victim is immediately rescued by three other men.

The equipment incident continues without explanation. Regilânio said he has used the device to train before without any problems. The owner of the gym claims that the maintenance has been updated and that it is a new device.

“He had already received instructions for using the machine. The machine is extremely new, its maintenance was in a few days. The machine was probably not closed properly,” said Fábio Ferreira.
