A muzzled dog in an ill-treatment situation was rescued on Wednesday 30 in Volta Redonda, Rio de Janeiro. The animal, which had bruises and signs of malnutrition, was rescued after complaints from neighborhood residents.
This was reported by the Volta Redonda Animal Welfare and Protection Coordination, which collaborated in the rescue with the Volta Redonda Animal Protection Society (SPA-VR).
After the rescue, the dog was sent directly to a veterinary clinic in the Aterrado neighborhood, where he receives the necessary care, such as counseling, food and tests. Even the SPA has temporarily taken over the guardianship of the animal and is asking for donations. The expectation is that the animal will soon be given up for responsible adoption.
The file now tries to identify the owner of the animal who will be able to answer for the crime of abandonment. “It is important that the population helps us by reporting cases of neglect and abuse, only in this way can we change this scenario.
