Former BBB Slovenia makes “lipo” which turns fat into muscle

Since his participation in BBB 22, Slovenian influencer Marques has invested in aesthetic procedures to change his appearance, such as facial toning and, more recently, UGraft liposuction, an innovative technique that even manages to improve the muscle definition of the abdomen, according to plastic surgeon Daniel Botelho, president of BAPS (Brazilian Association of Plastic Surgeons).

“US-guided fat transfer (UGraft) is performed in conjunction with liposuction. In short, it is a procedure for removing localized fat from one location and transferring it to muscle tissue. In this way there is a natural hypertrophy (increase) of this muscle, reshaping the abdomen for a more athletic appearance”, explains the doctor.

Liposuction is a procedure performed through an instrument called a cannula, which is connected to a suction device so that the fat can be sucked out.

“The UGraft technique complements and perfects high definition lipo. Even patients who do not have a very developed musculature can now achieve a more natural aesthetic result”, explains plastic surgeon Tácito Ferreira, member of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery and specialist in advanced body techniques at the Body Counting Academy Institution & Faculty of Medicinal Santos.

The hospital environment is essential

According to Daniel Botelho, the novelty must be made in a hospital environment. During surgery, an ultrasound machine is used in the operating room to identify the muscle group (usually the rectus abdominis) that you want to strengthen.

“After liposuction, a fat graft, rich in stem cells, is carried out in order to obtain hypertrophy of that region, transforming the fat into muscle”, explains the president of the association.

The Brazilian Association of Plastic Surgeons points out that the surgery can also be performed on the deltoid (shoulder), pectoral, bicep and tricep muscles, emphasizing that fat transfer techniques (lipoenxertia) are safe.

“Autologous fat transfers, i.e. from the patient himself, do not present any risk of rejection and offer a completely natural and truly long-lasting filling. With this technique, previously inaccessible muscle areas can now enhance the definition created by the volume of these muscles,” explains Daniel.

After the surgery, the patient usually goes home the next morning. To avoid complications and health risks, doctors advise that it is essential to ensure that the surgery is performed by a specialist practitioner, who must have plastic surgery qualifications and credentials to perform the surgery safely.

“It is worth analyzing the doctor’s specialties and whether he has experience with body techniques. It is also important to look for other people who have already undergone operations from their doctor and check what their experience has been,” recommends Tácito.

In the postoperative period, the patient may experience slight pain, swelling and hematoma in the treated areas, and the recovery time is fifteen days for work and 20 days for light activities.

“Try to eat well, with healthy foods. Also avoid sun exposure in the region for 90 days. Also interesting are the recommendations to perform lymphatic drainage and ultrasound to reduce swelling,” concludes Tácito Ferreira.
