The nights of João Zelante Square They seem like the ideal setting for a Christmas romantic comedy: there’s live music, decorative lights, lively bars and even statues of teddy bears wearing scarves.
The square is like a central point of the city, as it is less than fifteen minutes walk from numerous attractions, including the Trevi Fountainor Cable caror Christ the Redeemer and the Robot Disneyland (which I’ll talk about later).
It’s worth staying nearby, as the square’s surroundings are home to several hotels (see accommodation options in Serra Negra here) and good restaurants, such as Café Boteco, known for its Parrilla Argentina.
Next to the square, Rua Coronel Penteado has the highest concentration of clothing shops, especially wool and knitwear shops, as well as chocolate and food shops in Minas Gerais. In other words, this is the ideal shopping center.
Cable car and Christ the Redeemer
Sesquicentenário Square, 143 – Center
In a journey of about 15 minutes, individual cable car chairs take visitors to the Pico da Fonsecawhere is a Christ the Redeemer with views of the city framed by the mountains. Those who don’t like the cable car can go up to Cristo Redentor by car, via Cristo Redentor street. The climb to the panoramic point involves a few flights of stairs, but there is an elevator for accessibility to people with reduced mobility.
Trevi Fountain

Opening in May 2023, the replica of Trevi Fountain In Serra Negra It is a tribute to the culture of the Italian immigrants who have settled in the city over the last two centuries. At 11 meters tall, the attraction is 40% smaller than Rome’s original fountain, which stood at 26 meters high.

Founded in 1988 by a former mechanic, Disneyland of Robots stands out among the houses that surround it: with towers, windmills and many colorful decorations, the attraction has a nostalgic aesthetic à la Rá-Tim-Bum Castle .
Inside, the interactive museum has more than 40 robots and gadgets built from waste and recycled materials, which move and can be controlled by visitors. In addition to the robotic collection, Disneyland of Robots displays pieces purchased by old-timers Museum of Egypt In Serra Negra.
The space closes on Tuesdays and opens on other days of the week from 10:00 to 17:00, with last entry at 16:30. To enter, children and adolescents up to 18 years old, seniors over 60 years old and students pay R $ 10, while adults pay R $ 20. Belvedere of Alto da Serra
Access via Rua 14 de Julho
Located about 12 minutes drive from the city center, the Belvedere of Alto da Serra It is located on a 1,310 meter high peak. The location allows you to see the mountain range and at least eight nearby cities, if the weather is clear. Furthermore, the peak is ideal for hang gliding and paragliding.
The site has free parking, refreshment points and a large lawn, suitable for picnics.
Serra Negra Biopark

With 28 hectares of native Atlantic forest, the Bioparque Serra Negra is an area of conservation, research and environmental education. The place has numerous paths, well signposted and of easy level, which can be followed freely, simply by paying the entrance fee of R$40.
But the park also offers two options for visits monitored by biologists, one during the day and the other at night: in both cases the ticket goes up to R$80 and it is necessary to book in advance via Whatsapp (19) 99747-8125.
The Bioparque is open on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, from 10am to 5pm, with last entry at 4pm.
Silotto family winery and still
SP-360 motorway, Km 158.5 – S/N
Descendants of Italian immigrants, the Silotto family has been producing artisanal wines and cachaças since the first half of the 20th century: the first vine on the property is already a century old. At the cellar and still, visitors can take a tour to learn about the beverage-making process and visit the family museum, housed in a huge, now-retired cachaça barrel.
The restaurant is open every day, including holidays, from 9:00 to 18:00. The visit is free.
Ouro Verde Valley and Coffee Museum

Installed in a 1980s farm, the Vale do Ouro Verde coffee plantation produces Arabica coffee, Catuaí, Catucaí, Tupi and Obatã varieties. To learn a little about the history of the property and the culture of coffee in Brazil, the place hosts a Coffee Museum which displays old machinery and photos of the Bruni family, owners of the coffee plantation.
Furthermore, Vale do Ouro Verde also promotes visits to follow the production process from the plantation, through the drying yard to the cup. The guided tour must be booked on the site and is paid (more information at this link), while the visit to the museum is free. The restaurant is open on weekends and public holidays, from 9:00 to 17:00.
Vetrina das Flores Park
Rua Norberto Quaglio, 2000 – Jardim Belvedere do Lago
Unfortunately for flower enthusiasts, some safety regulations prevent the visit of most of the producers’ fields: in Holambra there are places set up to receive visits and special events that you can experience here.
But there is a way out: inside Serra Negrathe Park Vitrine das Flores is a space designed for visitors to discover the more than 44 species of roses produced by the Rosas Alto da Serra property.
The park features a rose greenhouse (the so-called “flower showcase”), a laundry room and a garden with photogenic scenes, as well as a cafe and a flower shop located in the school bus.
OR Vetrina das Flores Park Open from Wednesday to Friday, from 9:00 to 17:00, and on Saturday from 9:00 to 18:00. Entrance costs R$15 and children up to 12 years old are free.
