The frequency of trains continues to be hourly, starting from 5 in the morning and until midnight. The price of the Airport Express fare is R$4.40.

The connection between the Airport-Guarulhos station and the Guarulhos international airport is made free of charge via a shuttle bus from the airport concessionaire GRU: the journey takes approximately 10 minutes. The expectation is that this transport will be replaced by Aeromóvel trains, which the concessionaire is building and which are expected to enter service in 2024.

We tested

A VT tested the new trip to Guarulhos airport from Barra Funda station on September 11th. After climbing the escalator of the Metro Red Line 3, just follow the CPTM signs (do not exit the main turnstiles) and signs for the airport will soon appear: you need to go down another escalator to get to platform 10.

The transfer from the subway to Expresso Aeroporto is well signposted

You have to go down an escalator to reach platform 10, where the train departs

The biggest advantage of Barra Funda over Luz is the much larger waiting space on the platform.

The train left Barra Funda on time at 10am, made its first stop in Luz at 10.07am and arrived at the Airport-Guarulhos station at 10.35am. The bus that goes to terminal 2 was already waiting and at 10:42 we arrived at the airport terminals.

Estação da Luz remains the best option for those who need to take Line 1-Blue or Line 4-Yellow.

From Barra Funda, the VT takes 35 minutes to reach the Airport-Guarulhos station
