Complete recipe for homemade jujubes

Time: 30 minutes (+12 hours of rest)

Performance: 60 units

Difficulty: easy

Ingredients:

  • 3 sachets of colorless, unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1 box strawberry flavored gelatin powder (or your favorite flavor)
  • 2 cups (tea) of water
  • 1kg of sugar
  • 5 drops of red food coloring
  • Granulated sugar for sprinkling

Preparation method:

  1. Sprinkle the gelatine over the water and let it rest for 10 minutes in the refrigerator.
  2. Place over low heat to melt it, without letting it boil.
  3. Add the sugar and mix well.
  4. Return to low heat to completely dissolve the sugar without letting it boil.
  5. Mix the dye until you reach the desired color and pour it into a 25cm x 35cm rectangular baking dish greased with oil and leave to rest in the fridge for at least 12 hours.
  6. Cut into cubes and roll in crystalline sugar.
  7. Let it dry and store in closed containers.
