Karoline Vitto was invited by the Italian brand Dolce & Gabbana
The Brazilian designer Karoline Vitto made her debut last Sunday (25th) on the catwalks of Milan Fashion Week, at the invitation of the Italian brand Dolce & Gabbana, with a show aimed at the plus size public.
With pieces ranging from numbers 38 to 58, the Santa Catarina native Londoner’s summer 2024 collection features an inclusive approach and has received support from duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
The Italian brand financed the production of the show, the location, the casting, the models and all the costs of the clothes, which celebrate self-confidence and pay homage to the different forms of female beauty.
On the catwalk, Vitto presented a powerful casting of plus size women, including North American model Ashley Graham and Brazilian Rita Carreira, and presented garments with a welcoming yet sensual femininity.
The Brazilian described the collection “as sexy, bold and inclusive, with soft curves proudly displayed”, and focused on cut-out details, studs and transparencies.
Vitto’s debut was also marked by stretch dresses, skirts and even swimsuits enriched with metallic elements. In practice you can tighten or widen them as you wish. The dress fits the body, not the other way around. Furthermore, the metal emphasizes the contours of the bodywork.
The surprise was the “sizeless jeans”, the first in history, made with the interaction of hooks and elastic. This makes them narrower or wider depending on your preference. .
