- Before you even start cleaning, soak the dishes and fill the plumbing with special products. The microwave can be steamed by placing a bowl of water in it with a solution of lemon or citric acid.
Once you’re done cleaning, all you have to do is wipe down all those surfaces, because the water combined with the products will do all the work for you.
- If you wear household gloves when cleaning the house (which we highly recommend!), turn the edges of the gloves outward. This way you will create a “secret” pocket in which drops of water will collect, usually running down your elbows.
- When cleaning, use clever tools designed for a particular area: for example, a mop, duster, microfiber cloths and brushes of varying shapes and hardness. This will speed up the cleaning process and make it more efficient.
- Use melamine sponges for cleaning, which work well on most stains without detergents. However, before you start cleaning, remember to test the sponge on an inconspicuous area to make sure it won’t damage the surface.
- Remember to wipe down all surfaces, including door handles, lamps, baseboards and other non-visible areas.
- Don’t ignore the space under the bathtub, as this is where a lot of dirt usually accumulates.
