Coconut donut with dulce de leche: the afternoon coffee recipe

Coconut donut with dulce de leche

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon of oil
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 3 cups wheat flour (approximately)
  • Margarine and wheat flour for greasing and flouring
  • 1 egg yolk for brushing
  • Ground cinnamon and grated coconut flakes for sprinkling
  • 1/2 cup (tea) condensed milk

Filling

  • 100g grated coconut flakes
  • 3/4 cup (tea) creamy dulce de leche

Preparation method:

  1. Mix yeast, oil, milk, water and sugar
  2. Add the flour, little at a time, kneading until it forms a dough that does not stick to your hands.
  3. If necessary, add more flour
  4. Knead the dough for 5 minutes
  5. Cover and let rest for 1 hour
  6. Roll out portions of dough, divide the mixed filling ingredients between them and close to form balls.
  7. In a buttered and floured 24cm removable mould, arrange the balls, one next to the other, filling the mould.
  8. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes
  9. Brush with egg yolk, sprinkle with cinnamon and bake in a preheated medium oven for 25 minutes or until starting to brown.
  10. Drizzle with condensed milk, sprinkle with coconut and return to the oven for 10 minutes
  11. Remove warm and serve immediately.
