‘The Dark Side of Roger Waters’ was created by an Anglo-Jewish organization and features a report from the producer of ‘The Wall’
Campaign Against Antisemitism, a British organization of the Anglo-Jewish community, created the online documentary The Dark Side of Roger Waterswhich denounces the musician’s anti-Semitic behavior.
Bob Exrinproducer of The Wall (1979), reported an episode in which Waters made anti-Semitic comments against the agent Bryan Morrison. “He ended a sentence with something like ‘because he’s a goddamn Jew.’ It was the first time I’d seen covert anti-Semitism. Roger He knew that I’m Jewish, so I didn’t understand if it was some kind of joke or if he was doing it to see how I would react, or even if he didn’t understand how offensive the speech was.”
The saxophonist Norbert Stachelwho already played alongside the formerpink Floyd recalled that once, Waters rejected food because it was Jewish. “This is Jewish food. What’s wrong with Jewish food?” he reportedly said. Stachel. “Should I have left and then be judged?”, reflected the instrumentalist.
On another occasion, Roger Waters imitated his family members Stachel. Some of them were victims of the Holocaust. “I’m going to introduce you to your deceased grandmother,” the artist reportedly said.
Gideon Falterchief executive of the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism expressed outrage at the way Waters uses its influence on fans:
Roger Waters He’s literally a rockstar. He could do whatever he wanted. He has this platform that allows him to influence tens of thousands of people in his shows, millions of people through social media… And yet he continues to use it for this: provoking Jews and persecuting them. What kind of person does that with the voice they have?
